Has anyone noticed the billboard along I-465 southbound just past Washington Street? It's an Allegiant ad touting nonstop service to PIE. I hadn't heard about this. Have they announced service from IND?

I seem to remember someone last fall/winter was supposed to run a nonstop service to a Florida city. But I hadn't heard anything else about it. Maybe it is them. I checked flytecomm.com to see if anyone is running that currently and didn't see anything. Perhaps it is seasonal. I don't know.

Well, according to the route map on their website, they fly FWA-PIE. As I recall, the billboard just mentions Allegiant and mentions nonstop flights to PIE. So I guess it's designed to get people to think about flying FWA-PIE while they're driving to IND. I'm not sure it's all that effective, though.

Why make that trip when you can take one of the 4 daily nonstops from IND to TPA. 2x on FL, 1x on NW and 1x on WN.

Exactly. Seems like wasted ad money to me.

I caught the billboard at the very last second the other day when going to the airport and was like "what the?" and didn't see if they had advertised where you could fly from or not.

Interesting.
