Indianapolis to Las Vegas is down to about 800 a day. At one time it was over 1,100. Unless people just don't travel to Las Vegas as much in the summer?

Orlando is pretty strong ... 1,200-ish. That number has actually gone up over the past two years or so.

Oh. And New York City is down to 600 per day. That used to be 1,000-ish as well. That one hurts. Ouch.

The lack of seats to LAS has driven the price way up making it no longer the affordable destination it used to be back in the TZ days. Now you are looking at nearly $400 per person round trip. Back in the day it was just over $200. Right now its two WN 737's and one NW A319 to LAS. Back in the day it was two HP 757's, a TZ L1011 and whatever other flights they were running. Not sure if WN ran the route back then. The price increase has killed the route.

I heard today from an Indy Center controller that Cactus (America West/US Airways) runs LAS, but I don't think the controller was right, there's nothing that says they do. I know they used to though.

Why do my favorite airlines end up going defunct??

They no longer fly Las Vegas - Indianapolis, that is correct. However, in my humble opinion, they're pretty stupid for not at least bringing back the route and giving it a go. It seems like they are missing a lot of opportunity connecting frequent flyer bases. US Airways, despite cutting back lots in Indianapolis from say back in 1994, still has a lot of strong loyalties and a frequent flyer base.

Does anyone think Jet Blue will ever come to IND?

I doubt they come here. Just no market for them in my opinion. IND is saturated with LCCs.

JetBlue will come here eventually, but it won't be until they cover their juicier targets first. They've got ORD, sort of, and CMH (underserved). Watch for DTW, MSP, STL, and maybe MEM before IND gets service. They at least won't arrive before the new terminal opens.

I believe JB is ending CMH service.
