Was driving past the airport yesterday as the AC Jazz flight was landing from YYZ. Got to thinking that this might be another airline with a questionable future at IND. They fly twice daily to and from YYZ on Dash-8 turboprops. I know they don't keep their own workforce at IND, but use the UA agents, bag handlers, etc. Still, has anyone been on these flights? I can't imagine they're ever very full as the prices tend to be somewhat high and the slow speed of the turboprop doesn't make the nonstop flight all that attractive compared to a connection in Cleveland or Detroit.

When I came back from spring break back in the beginning of April, the Air Canada flight that came in was a CRJ, so maybe they switched to the rj or was it a temporary thing?

I think the AC flight was temporarily upgraded for the Final Four or something.

LOL. Not very often that someone ever associates the word "upgrade" with a CRJ.

I've been watching flight tracker the last couple of days and it seems that the service to YYZ is indeed CRJ all the time.

I think you're right, actually. Probably just part of an across-the-board fleet upgrade to get away from the Dash-8s. Of course, it could just be an increase in demand on the route. Anyone know what loads are like IND-YYZ?

I see a combo of CRJs and Dash-8s on the D concourse for AC.

AC flies to quite a few smaller cities on the east coast with Beech19s. If those flights can survive (with the multitude of canadian and other international connections out of YYZ), I think IND can hold their own with this route!

There are a lot of auto manufacturing going on up in Canada...it is a good business link for indiana.

Would be nice if they few a little more frequently to YYZ. And maybe a flight to YUL, too.

Porter? I'd say no. I actually emailed them asking about whether or not they would be coming here. They were really nice but didn't like it would be happening. I love the look of their product. I think it is superior to most. I hope they survive.

I don't see Westjet coming to Indy. More than likely, they'll tighten their arrangement with WN to a full-on codeshare, and if you want to go to YVR, you'll fly to MDW and connect to west jet there.
