If the information on flyertalk.com is correct Delta will be starting mainline service to Salt Lake City in June. According to the post JFK will go to twice daily service, LGA will go to 6 daily departures and BOS will go to 5 daily departures. The BOS and LGA service for now will be a mix of NW and DL metal.

Hopefully this is correct. We can use some good news.

Edit: Title change. Will be updated in OAG by Monday.

The mainline to SLC... did it list an aircraft type? I'm guessing A319/737/MD88. lol

Why do my favorite airlines end up going defunct??

Expect SLC on airbus

Expect all Florida to go bye bye

LAS, LAX and RDU will survive.

According to the Airliners thread it will also included expanded DCA service. We already knew about SFO and SEA. The new changes will likely result in an additional 9 daily departures. Provided SLC is 2x daily.

Here are the Delta additions I find on Delta.com.

DCA x1 CRJ 100 (Comair)
LGA x 4 CRJ 100 (Comair)
BOS x 4 CRJ 100 (Comair)
JFK x 2 CRJ 100 & 900 (Comair) - Not sure which flight was the addition
SLC x1 MD-90

Then of course there are the existing routes with what I assume are no frequency changes.

ATL x 8 = 2 E170's, 4 MD-88's, 2 757's
CVG x 5 E145's

That is 25 Delta flights a day. Search date was July 13th.

NWA metal will be as follows

MSP x 5 = 1 A319, 2 A320, 2 DC9-30
DTW x 8 = 1 CRJ-200 (Pinnacle), 1 A319, 6 DC9-30
MEM x 3 = 1 CRJ-200 (Pinnacle), 2 DC9-30
DCA x 4 = CRJ-200 (Pinnacle)
LGA x 2 = CRJ-200 (Pinnacle) - NW Cut 1 mainline and 1 CRJ-200
BOS x 1 = CRJ-200 (Pinnacle) - NW Cut 1 or 2 CRJ-200
RDU x 2 = CRJ-200 (Pinnacle)
LAS x 1 = A319
LAX x 2 = A319

There will be 28 flights with NW metal.

Total daily departures this summer for NW/DL will be 53. That is assuming nothing else changes. Seems like it is going to be nothing but Comair and Pinnacle. Like a mini Cincinnati.

I miss the good old days when there was a 757-300 on MSP-IND.

We used to have SLC on DL with an E170. I think I'd rather three 2x or 3x with the RJ than 1x with the MD90.

I know this would make me unpopular on airliners.net but I don't like the MD88's, MD90's and the DC9's. I love the E jets. Was on the E175 from MCO to IND. Really comfortable jet.

I agree. The E175 is much nicer than the MD's or the DC9.

I have no idea. But I suspect that by the fact it still exists means it is doing well. I wish I knew what was up with CUN.

I'll be on IND-RDU in a few weeks. I've heard it always does well both because of the pharma business between Indy and Research Triangle as well as univeristy travel between here and there. It's just a little RJ 2x per day, right? Doesn't take a big load factor to make that profitable.

Plus you are linking up two decent size markets with no other competition. I'd like to see an equipment upgrade though. Maybe an E-175 or something instead of those sardine can CRJs.

I think LAX outside of summer runs less than 7 times a week. I could be wrong. With no other carriers on the route that should be at least 1x daily. A market as big as LA and you don't run daily? I think the LAX-IND flight is an overnight flight.

They are killing it? I thought they were going down to like 3 or 4x weekly.
