Well, it is happening...Southwest airlines is going to be serving LGA with the 14 ATA slots that it purchased. I wasn't expecting this.

They have to get approval from the court on Friday but shouldn't be a problem. They are distance limited so I'd expect to see something like MDW, IAH, MCO and MCI.

You'll probably see destinations like BWI and BNA as well. They're both strong SWA markets with large opertations. Plus, they can route more passengers through these cities who are continuing to other destinations. I wonder how the other airlines will respond to this, if they even respond at all. I know that DL and AA have pretty decent operations in LGA as well. I also keep hearing rumors that SWA will expand into CVG in the near future. That would prove to be beneficial for them, especially if DAL/NW decide to ax the hub.
