Wayne Township businesses and officials continue bitching about the airport's exemption from property taxes.

First, the airport doesn't rely on the township for any services. Snow removal? Nope. Fire protection? Got it's own. Police? Uh-uh. Possibly the only thing the township provides is maintenance on parts of High School Road and some of the other roads near the airport.

Yet I'll bet the airport is responsible for the employment of thousands of Wayne Township residents.

Now, they might have a legitimate beef about the hotels and restaurants that will spring up near the new entrance after the new terminal opens. But the airport's been much more of a benefit to the township than it has been a burden. So IMHO, they don't have any room to complain.

I'll jump down off my soapbox now...

Sound like Wayne Township is looking for a sugar daddy?

I think Wayne Township has had a sugar daddy and is upset about it going away.
