Here are some of the changes coming for this fall/winter schedule.
4th additional flight to LGA. DC9
Return of 2nd daily to MCO. DC9
Return of 2nd daily to LAS. A319
Return of seasonal service to PHX. A319
1 CRJ upgraded to DC9 to DCA (don't know when this changed)
Those are the ones I have found so far.

Effective Oct 31st a 2nd CRJ becomes mainline to DCA. This may be a seasonal change or it may be to replace service lost to the DC area by the pullout of Independence Air.
For whatever the reason the 2nd mainline flight is only in the system for October 31st and November 1st. Not sure why its only in for 2 days. Maybe having it in the system is an error. Maybe having November 1st, 2005 as the last day is an error.

When airline scheds change, you often see different equipment listed on certain flights for just a couple of days while they reposition aircraft. That could be why you see the DC9 for only 2 days.
Could also be some kind of special event in the DC area that NW sees from bookings will require some additional capacity.
