Last year the story came out that there was a plan to build a mega mall across from where the new airport was being built. I thought this was just something in the planning phase. Apparently not. Phase one of the project opens today.

"Just a year ago, Premier Properties realized it would take more than dining and cajoling to woo upscale retail tenants into undeveloped farmlands in Plainfield."

"Today, the company will celebrate the result when it opens Metropolis, its largest project so far, an open-air mall spanning 850,000 square feet and carrying a price tag of $200 million."

I don't usually go out shopping much but I think this weekend I will go and check this place out.
