I think we could all see this coming. CO flying from EWR to all those little cities in Europe. Now DL and AA want to do the same thing.

But the big money is on truly underserved, truly long-haul routes. Of course, it takes big birds to do it. But if the airlines can get the widebodies, they'll rake in the cash going to places like Johannesburg, Dubai, any city in China or India, Moscow, Singapore, etc.

Can I get a peanut crumb with that thimble of Coke?

These airlines continue to serve the same tired old markets. Getting away from the biggest cities in the US will do the traveling public a world of good. Maybe not overloading the smaller European cities but eliminating the cattle call that is international arrivals in places like ATL, PHL, ORD, etc.
