Tomorrow (Tuesday the 24th) jetBlue will apparently go over their expansion plans for 2007 including 14 new cities for the year. Supposedly they will announce their midwest hub. This person speculates it will be STL.

Will they choose STL (provided this is even true about a hub) or would they choose something like IND.
Both markets have a good population base to draw from. STL has a larger market but IND is famous for ripping customers from CVG. What about competition? STL has a significant AA operation as well as a large WN operation. IND has the NW focus city and other carriers with 15+ flights (US, WN, FL).
At his very moment STL likely has a facilities edge. In 2008 IND will have the facilities edge. IND will have room for significant growth into the future. Not sure what expansion STL can do.
At this point neither city has jetBlue so I'm not putting much faith in them making either city a hub at this point. There are things to support either city and there are things that could disqualify either city. It should be interesting to see what really happens tomorrow.

Oh man, I hope we at least get service, it doesn't have to be a hub, I just want JetBlue at IND.
Why do my favorite airlines end up going defunct??http://web01.jetphotos.net/showphotos.php?userid=16657

They didn't completely pull it out of their ass. Though I think the midwest hub idea may have been pulled from deep, dark, stinky locations. Here is the link Boofer posted in another thread that this was all based on.

Yeah. About 8 to 10. 10 is really the limit because if one flight is late then you have 2 planes trying to use 1 gate.
