Anyone have any info on the proposal for a light rail link from the airport to downtown? I recall reading several times about the authorities wanting to put some kind of a light rail line in to serve the airport. It was mentioned as a possible extension or addition to the Clarian people-mover or as part of the proposed Hamilton County-downtown rail system.

I think it would be nice, especially for visitors and convention-goers. That's the one major thing that keeps this town from landing the really really big events - lack of any real public transportation.

I would think a light rail train could easily go from downtown, maybe at the convention ceter or Union Station, out to the southwest and then be built over the middle of I-70. The airport train could even follow the Airport Expressway and then enter the new terminal via underground tunnels on the northwest side of the airport, rather than following I-70 out to the new airport entrance near Six Points.

Can I get a peanut crumb with that thimble of Coke?

It would be nice to see it but I wouldn't hold my breath. Considering the way the rest of the system is expanding around town I'd guess 2060. Smile
