Any preference on mileage run routes on particular carriers out of IND?

Provided you are talking about what I'm thinking about which is taking flights just for miles I'm looking at MCI & MCO or TPA by Dec 15th. Got a deal from NW where if I take two more trips in the 3 months I'll get an automatic Silver Elite upgrade for next season which is like March 1 - Feb 28 of 2007. The rates to those cities are good. I had looked at things like flights to SEA where you'd like 4 or 5 different airports total. The flight was under $300 and you'd get quite a few miles and segments.

One of my favorite routes is IND-MSP-BOI-SEA-DTW-IND for $261 . Its really a day trip. 25 hours to be exact Smile. Thats a boat load of miles and 5 different airport and 4191 flight miles. Usually FF miles are awarded a bit higher than the real flight miles. At least thats what NW does. Plus I have the 3 month silver elite card that will get a 50% mileage bonus as well. Nice way to add over 6,000 miles to the account.

btw if you have a NW FF account try getting your upgrade at http://www.nwa.com/offers/elitefly2

Let me know if it works for you.

I got that on nwa.com . I picked November 12th because October is a bad month for me with the wife going on a trip and me having the party here. November 12th being a saturday is probably the best bet for me.

I like the run you came up with. Thats all one ticket right? BTW on mine I did the run from IND to BOI. It wasn't STL to BOI.

thanks. there is another option. this one runs you through Cincinnati twice instead of Atlanta twice. the one through Atlanta can be challenging with having to switch concourses, etc., but it could be fun. plus you know my thoughts on CRJ's.

i looked at something like that, too.

a mileage run i found interesting starting in STL was STL to ORD to IND to IAD to ORD (on the 777) and then back to STL. all on United, clocking in in the mid $250's. included the ER, 737, E70, and 737 on the way home.

i'm kinda itching to get back to the IND airport just to see Air Tran and what Northwest looks like there and no ATA, etc. Sad
