Is someone new coming to IND? I keep an eye on the job listings on careerbuilder.com and in the last two days there were two listings added by staffing companies. One is for ramp agents and the other for a customer service specialist. The way the description looks for the specialist it will be a CSR manager. I know Republic and Northwest always hire under their own names. Maybe its nothing but it looks funny that these two hit the site in two days.
Any thoughts on this?

I was gonna say e-jet, too. But then, don't they run the CO ops here? And thus would already have a CSR and others?
Doubtful it's JetBlue. Maybe it's SkyBus...(blech)

I'm taking a really wild guess. I mean seriously wild. British Airways.
They not that long ago applied to the DOT for blanket approval to fly to any U.S. destination. They applied for this ahead of open skies. They already fly to most all of the major airports in the U.S. so this would imply they are looking for a less traditional market.
The customer service management position that was listed on careerbuilder.com required a passport as part of the job requirement.
What do you think?

Ok, this thread went form plausible suggestions to just plain wild imaginations. So while were at it, I'm gonna say its ATA

Is it really all that wild? BA at RDU is changing service from LGW to LHR. They've applied for that blanket coverage in the U.S. a year before they would have had it automatically. They have plans on going somewhere. As I said it was just a wild guess. The thing that had me bring that up is someone had a passport requirement. It could be for any airline I guess.

What about Virgin America? I forgot about them.

BA could happen, but honestly, I'm not going to give any international carrier the slightest chance until the new terminal opens.

Virgin America would be a possibility. Passport requirements may be to visit the main company in the UK.

Forget about BA. The RDU service is heavily subsidized by Glaxo Smithkline. Lilly has no such need, and as mentioned time and time again - no major international carrier is going to come here until there is a proper international arrivals facility, and even then it's very iffy.
Did you remember that passports are now required to travel anywhere outside the U.S., including Mexico, Canada, and the Carribean? Even though the rules were recently relaxed, they're still going to be fully in place soon. So that could mean a lot of possibilities. Maybe it's Spirit. They fly to a whole bunch of places in the Carribean, Central and South America. A likely possibility is that it's a scheduled-charter airline. Didn't we have a thread on news a while back about that kind of airline announcing they'd start service here? Or perhaps it's just NW or FL adding personnel and for competetive reasons not wanting to tip their hand to the other airlines.

NW does their hiring on careerbuilder.com. AirTran has their own site for it. Its rare now to even get a ramp agent listing for IND on AirTran's job site.

So how about Spirit?
And can you give us an update - are the ads still there? Have there been more ads posted?

I don't think Spirit would, too much competition.
How about Midwest to Kansas City?

IND-MCI needs no additional service. The fares to MCI are really low as it is.

I take that flight a lot. Most of the pax are only doing IND-MCI. Especially the afternoon/evening return flight from MCI. Very few pax are "thru", i.e., staying on the plane at MCI to continue on to IND. Easily 85+ boarding at MCI, terminating at IND on a normal day. Early morning flight IND-MCI, probably 70+% terminating at MCI.
Those little NW flights used to be fairly well loaded, as I recall. Since that service got the axe, the WN flights are the only n/s game in town. They jack around the schedule throughout the year, but most of the time there's an early a.m. outbound with a late p.m. return, so it's really convenient just to go out-and-back for meetings during the day. But man, I wish UA or DL would pick up that route and offer a little competition.
