Looks like AirTran is ending IND-LAS service. The last date the flight is available online is December 1st. Is LAX and SFO going to follow the same path?

I wonder why they're doing this. That's always been a high volume route. It seems like you can almost never go wrong with a Vegas route out of any city. The loads are always high. Everybody wants to go to Vegas!! Razz

Before AirTran jumped on this route the fares were going up. They were slowly recovering from the ATA days. Then AirTran jumps on the route and fares start coming back down. With fuel prices being so high you don't want a fare war on a long route like this. Kind of hard to make money on a 4 hour flight and $250 ticket.

That's true. Do you think that fares will increase again on the IND-LAS route since just NWA and SWA will be the only ones flying nonstop?

They probably will go up just like the last time it was only those two.

I'm suprised that no other airline has added a Vegas flight out of IND. I remember when ATA, AWA & SWA used to constantly go head to head for IND-LAS. Tickets were dirt cheap back then.

Ahh, the good ol' days.

I think anything more than 2 carriers on a route is excessive and a yield killer. Just look at TPA and MCO.

That's good news. I'm sure a lot of folks would rather LAS stay a permanent flight.
