The last year was pretty grim for IND. May routes were cut. But it seems AirTran is expanding at IND. As I was promised by AirTran the Las Vegas route is back. Daily nonstop service will resume on March 4th of 2010. With all the added routes and flights this will put the daily service at the highest it has ever been for AirTran at IND. I suspect this is not the last of the route additions we will see for 2010 with AirTran.

The service will be provided on the Boeing 737 and is bookable now on AirTran.com.

I'm not sure on SFO but I'd say LAX would be at the top of the list.

Anyone know why LAS was discontinued? It seemed so short lived. I heard the flights were almost always full.

I agree. I guess with them trying to build up MKE and with the whole Frontier/Midwest/Republic deal, they reallly don't know what to do. Now that leaves Indy with just one nonstop airline to LAS on SWA.

They aren't really doing much with MKE right now either. They keep adding random routes all over the place while making normally strong routes seasonal so they can pretend to be a bigger airline with more routes. My opinion is that you just cannot count on them for anything.

Agreed. They almost seem to have adapted child-like behaviors when it comes to adding service. If one airline tries to add flights to a certain city, they turn around and do the same just to compete with them. And when said airline abandons said city, Air Tran does the same. Interesting.
