I noticed when I returned to IND last Saturday that there was a "Continental Connection" prop plane sitting outside of C-5. Surprising, because I haven't seen any prop planes at IND since Chicago Express left town, and certainly not from RJ-happy CO. But I looked it up, and it appears that CO has switched equipment from a CRJ to a DH2 on certain days. The prop plane runs IND-CLE on the Saturday 10:20 departure, and on the 14:00 departure Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday.

Interesting, I guess. I've felt like CO has been de-emphasizing service here for quite some time. This is further degradation in their product here, imo. Just to put it in perspective, btw, they have one morning and one evening flight to IAH on a 737, and one afternoon flight to EWR on a 737. Everything else is on the ERJ or, now, the DH2. Sad.

Can I get a peanut crumb with that thimble of Coke?

Yeah, they have been running the DH2 since early June, or at least that's when I first noticed it.

Why do my favorite airlines end up going defunct??

US Airways Express (Piedmont Airlines) also runs a DHC-8-100 on a PIT-IND-PIT route on Saturday mornings.

Mainline is like three or less. I don't think they have really trimmed flights, more like just downgraded to ERJ's.

I've been a CO flyer for many years, but I've moved away from them in the last couple of years. The main reason is that their fares to EWR can be as high as $1200, even with advance purchase, etc. My corporate HQ is about 45 minutes from EWR, but about 75 minutes from PHL. PHL is much cheaper to fly to, so I take NW and US a lot. Also, for overseas travel, I've found UA, NW, and DL to be much less expensive. The really sad thing is that CO's service is a notch above all the other U.S. airlines, IMHO, but not when you're stuck on an EMB-145 for 3 hours. They've got one or two 737s between IND and EWR/IAH, but all the rest, including every flight to CLE, is on an EMB-145 or EMB-135 (or a Dash-8, I guess). When you've flown 3 hours to IAH in seat 2A of a babyjet the improved service is nonexistent.

Haha, your post reminded me of the guy who sat next to the lavs. on a CO flight and from that 5+ napkin letter to CO complaining about his seat.
