With the A350 deal now up in the air, does anyone think US will scrap the deal and go for Boeing jets (737 and 787)? I think they will because with the A350 being redesigned, etc. US will want to get something sooner. Plus, i wouldn't doubt that there will be any delays that would put off the A350 even further. Even though the 787 is "sold out" for a while, i think it is a safer bet than the Airbus deal. Any thoughts?

Quite honestly I think Airbus should stick with the A330 and A340 and forget this crap with the A350 and A380.

You can't stick with the same model forever (though the 737 and 747 are trying), but I do agree, the 330 and 340 work well for Airbus.

US Airways switching to Boeing? That will happen when NW gets rid of the DC-9's!!

Airbus saved US Airways more than once, so unless US Airways really really wants the planes fast, they will stick with Airbus.

With the tactics that airbus uses to make sales (CEO pulls down his pants http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16635691/) I hope they go all Boeing.

Just out of curiosity...who here likes "UsAir" and who likes "USAirways?" Most people that i talk to still refer to them as "USAir." Smile

I prefer Allegheny. haha

No, I actually like USAir better than US Airways. I'm actually sitting in the US Airways terminal at LGA right now, and most of the people here still say USAir as well.

USAirways is just a stupid marketing ploy to make them sound like their a big-time airline (a la British Airways). Damn those marketing drones! Very Happy

I agree, I think they thought it would sound better.

I'm also not positive of this, but I believe that the entire US Airways rebranding back in the mid-90's was their way of trying to shed their image and reputation. USAir had quite a string of crashes in the late 80's to early 90's:

737 at LGA in '89
737 at LAX in '91
F-28 at LGA in '92
DC-9 in CLT in '94
737 in PIT in '94

Total of 220 dead in those crashes. I remember seeing news reports way back when of how USAir wasn't safe. Media hype, of course, but the public eats it up.

Yeah, I thought the switch to US Airways from USAir was a rebranding issue as well.
