The opening of the new terminal is being delayed by two weeks to coincide with Veteran's Day.

We all love our veterans but this in my opinion is just silly.

I love that part of the reasoning is "so we can provide public information about the new terminal without interference from political ads during the campaign season."

I wonder if they just aren't going to be ready yet, and are using this as an excuse. Sounds very odd to delay opening a huge expensive project by two weeks simply because of a veteran's holiday. Strange.

7E72004 isn't going to be happy about this. I believe he was scheduled to fly in or out of IND on the 28th. I don't remember the details. Maybe he can chime in.

I suspect there's more to this story as well. Like the terminal might be ready to go, but they must have discovered something that won't be ready - like the airlines' employees aren't ready to move, or some computer system won't be finished testing or the baggage system or something. And I don't trust a word Randy Tobias says anymore. I used to respect the man - until he couldn't keep his fly closed, got caught with hookers and claimed he was getting "massages." Why don't we put Elliot Spitzer and John Edwards on the airport board too?

Ask the DC Madam if you want Randy's personal masseuse.
